From: Pastor Sam Nyawanda, Nairobi, Kenya.
It was in 2006, when I first met “Daddy” Apostle John Boney in a leaders meeting that was hosted by Apostle Rachel Amimo in Eldoret, Kenya. I had just begun ministry and I desired to know God and his word more than I had before.
This meeting was a turning point in my Christian and ministry life. It opened my spiritual understanding to the apostolic kingdom revelation, and seating under their ministry that entire weekend did the unusual in me. Old foundations were challenged; wrong and misplaced biblical truths came alive in me. In 2008 Apostle John commissioned me among others to the nations; and I remember so vividly my first-ever mission our Kenya was to the nation of Rwanda with Papa’s blessings. Because of him, I also got to meet and know many within the EMI family, i.e. Ap. V.G. Valentyn, Ap. Israel Onoriobe, Ap. Rufus AjIboye, Ap. Bill Ward (the late), Ap. Melvin Abrahams, Ap. William Farag, Ap. David Clemetson among others.
Daddy Boney as I used to call him loved people dearly regardless and every time he met me, he wanted to know how I was doing spiritually and what burden has the Lord placed on my heart. Our last meeting was in 2019 just before the Covid-19 pandemic when he was in Kenya and we had such a lovely father-son fellowship. I remember how he powerfully ministered the word of the Lord during the 2020 EMI gathering that was anchored on the theme “Raising Up Restorers”. His life and ministry have left an indelible kingdom footprint that will live on to carry the testimony of the father and his kingdom on all the earth. May God’s eternal peace and strength overwhelm the family and all EMI worldwide. We will miss you “PAPA”.
