A Funny Memory – Amanda Majanen, Finland

From: Amanda Majanen, Finland.

Apostle John taught that relationships start with a revelation one time I was expressing to him my pain I had when it seemed so hard to develop relationships with brethren and even with authorities.

He truly had a huge father’s heart. It is difficult to comprehend but he was able to meet his spiritual children right where they were and truly love unconditionally. Yes, our Heavenly Father knows who we are, what we are, He knows our thoughts and deep things we don’t know. Somehow Apostle John seemed to have access to that river of knowledge when needed, and He was able to understand and have compassion on you. It was truly the love of God in him that made even confession of sins somewhat easy. You knew you would not be condemned although you would also receive tough love. He was able to lighten things with his jokes. It was always healing to hear his laughter even when ministering. His laughter would minister. His playing of air golf would minister. His dancing moves and “Oh yeah, that’s the way I liike it” would minister.

From my experience I can tell he had a special father’s heart for his daughters, natural and spiritual. He would be very protective and there was a requirement for purity which he tried to oversee as much as he could. I remember when he once spoke with me and said: “You know, when Jesus spoke to his disciples, ‘Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.’ He was not speaking about you.”
